Typical Laminations with Gloss PET Film
Gloss PET film is most often used as the printed outer layer in multi-layer laminates.
Below are some common structures where gloss PET plays a key role. The final design will depend on your packed product, filling temperature and packaging line; our engineers can fine-tune thickness, adhesive and sealant films to match your needs.
- PET (Gloss) / PE – A classic laminate for snacks, coffee, nuts, frozen foods and daily chemicals.
The gloss PET layer provides stiffness, strength and a high-gloss printed surface, while the PE layer offers reliable heat sealing and moisture barrier for pillow pouches and flat bags.
- PET (Gloss) / CPP – Used for lidding films, hot-fill pouches and applications that demand higher seal strength and heat resistance.
PET gives a smooth, glossy outer layer for high-quality printing; CPP works as the inner sealant for stronger hot-tack and better high-temperature performance.
- PET (Gloss) / VMPET / PE – A high-barrier laminate for products that require long shelf life and strong light protection, such as coffee, tea, milk powder and dry foods.
Gloss PET acts as the printed outer layer, aluminized PET (VMPET) provides excellent oxygen, moisture and light barrier, and PE ensures secure sealing.
This structure is also a natural upgrade path when you move from clear PET/PE to barrier laminates.
- PET (Gloss) / ALOx PET / PE – A transparent high-barrier option when you need both strong shelf appeal and product visibility.
The combination of clear gloss PET and transparent ALOx PET helps protect aroma and nutrients while keeping the product visible through the package, ideal for premium snacks, dried fruits and pet treats.
If you are already using another PET-based laminate, you can send us your current structure or datasheet. Our team will help you match an equivalent gloss PET grade or optimize the design for better performance and total cost.
Ordering & Customization Checklist for Gloss PET Film
To prepare an accurate quotation and technical recommendation, it helps if you can share as much of the following information as possible.
If you are not familiar with all the parameters, just tell us what you pack and how you print and laminate – our engineers will guide you step by step.
- Packed product & end use
What will you pack or produce with gloss PET film (snacks, coffee, labels, pharmaceutical pouches, electronics insulation, solar backsheets, etc.)?
Please also indicate the target market or region to check regulatory requirements.
- Converting process
Your printing method (gravure, flexo, digital, offset, screen), coating process and lamination type (solvent-based, solventless or dry lamination).
This helps us optimize surface treatment and winding quality.
- Thickness & width range
Target film thickness (for example 12–23 μm) and preferred width range.
If you have specific tolerance or mechanical requirements, please mention them.
- Surface treatment & functionality
One-side or two-side corona treatment, required surface energy (dyne level) and whether the film will be printed, coated, metallized or used as a clear protective layer.
- Optical and appearance requirements
Any special needs for clarity, haze, gloss level, or color (clear, tinted or white).
For premium labels and graphic films, we can recommend grades with very low haze and high gloss.
- Mechanical & thermal performance
Key requirements for tensile strength, shrinkage, maximum process temperature and dimensional stability on high-speed lines.
- Slitting & roll specifications
Core size (3″ or 6″), maximum outer diameter or roll weight, preferred roll length and packaging requirements (pallet, carton, etc.).
- Slip level & special properties
Target coefficient of friction (COF), anti-static properties, release coatings or special slip levels that your line requires.
- Estimated volume
Estimated annual volume and typical order quantity per shipment, and whether you prefer jumbo rolls or slit-to-width rolls.
Not sure about several of these points? No problem – simply send us photos of your current package or a datasheet of the film you are using, and we will help you specify a suitable gloss PET grade and structure.

Superior clarity and gloss for demanding brands
CloudFilm’s gloss PET film delivers a bright, mirror-like finish and excellent clarity, helping your brand graphics stand out on crowded shelves. Its smooth surface supports high ink density and sharp detail, making it ideal for premium labels, sleeves and flexible packaging.
Stable performance in printing and converting
Engineered as a biaxially oriented polyester film, our gloss PET offers outstanding dimensional stability, tensile strength and heat resistance. It runs reliably on high-speed printing, coating and lamination lines, reducing waste and ensuring consistent roll-to-roll quality.
Customizable to your process
We can tailor gloss PET film to your specific process – from thickness and width, to corona treatment, slip level and roll diameter. Whether you need a standard 12 μm printing film or a thicker grade for industrial laminates, our technical team will help you choose the right option and match existing PET specifications.
