POF Shrink Film

Good cold resistance can maintain flexibility without brittleness at -50℃, suitable for storing and transporting packaged goods in cold environments.

1. Cost

• POF has a specific gravity of 0.92, a minimum thickness of 0.012mm, and a lower actual unit cost.
• PE has a specific gravity of 0.92, a minimum thickness above 0.03, and a higher actual unit cost.
• PVC has a specific gravity of 1.4, a minimum thickness of 0.02mm, and a higher actual unit cost.

2. Basic Physical Properties

• POF is thin and tough, with uniform thickness, good moisture resistance, and a soft texture. It has high tensile strength, high tear resistance, and an adjustable shrinkage rate. Due to the presence of LLDPE, it has better abrasion resistance.
• PE is thick and challenging, with uniform thickness, good moisture resistance, and a soft texture. Its tear resistance is lower than POF but much higher than PVC, and its shrinkage rate is not as adjustable. Its abrasion resistance is not as good as POF.
• PVC is thick and brittle, with uneven thickness, poor moisture resistance, and a hard, brittle texture. It has low strength, low shrinkage rate, and poor abrasion resistance.

3. Cold Resistance and Other Physical Properties

• POF has excellent cold resistance, remains flexible and not brittle at -50℃, and is not prone to cracking, suitable for frozen food packaging. After shrink packaging, the packaged goods remain stable and unchanged during long-term storage at -50℃ to 95℃. With anti-static and anti-fog treatment, it is not easily contaminated by dust, keeping the product clean and bright.
• PE has exceptional cold resistance and does not harden or become brittle after freezing, making it less likely to crack during transportation. With anti-static treatment, it is not easily stained by dust, keeping the product clean.
• PVC has extremely poor cold resistance and becomes brittle after freezing, making it prone to cracking during transportation. The longer the shrink packaging, the tighter the shrinkage, causing the packaged goods to deform. Dust easily contaminates the product without anti-static treatment, making it appear dirty and unclear.

4. Processing Performance

• POF does not produce moisture during processing and does not stick to the sealing bar, making maintenance and operation easy. Its high toughness, smoothness, and abrasion resistance make it suitable for high-speed production line automatic packaging.
• PE does not produce moisture during processing and does not stick to the sealing bar, making maintenance and operation easy. Its high toughness and low abrasion resistance make it suitable for automatic packaging in a higher-speed production line.
• PVC’s processing produces volatiles, potentially damaging machinery and adhering to the sealing bar, making operation and maintenance difficult.

5. Safety

• After shrinking the packaging, POF has soft corners at the seal, does not cut hands, and is abrasion-resistant.
• After shrinking the packaging, PE has soft corners at the seal and does not cut the hands.
• After shrinking the packaging, PVC has hard and sharp corners at the seal, which quickly cuts and causes bleeding.

6. Environmental and Health Safety

• POF is non-toxic, does not produce toxic odors during processing, and complies with U.S. FDA and USDA standards.
• PE is non-toxic, does not produce toxic gases during processing, and complies with U.S. FDA and USDA standards.
• PVC is toxic, produces odors and harmful gases during processing, and is gradually phased out.
