Cast Film Description

What Is CloudFilm Cast Film

Cast film from CloudFilm is engineered to deliver consistent performance across printing, lamination, and form-fill-seal packaging lines. Produced via chill-roll casting, the film exhibits excellent thickness uniformity and outstanding flatness, helping converters achieve precise registration, stable tension control, and high run speeds.

Clear optics—high gloss with low haze—enhance product visibility and brand impact on the shelf.

Configurable Structures, COF & Surface Treatments

We offer CPP and CPE structures, including multilayer coextrusions that tune stiffness, toughness, and sealing windows for different pack formats. Slip and anti-block packages are customized to meet your target COF, while optional corona treatment and primer-ready grades improve ink adhesion and lamination strength.

For applications demanding higher protection, we can design coextruded structures that incorporate functional layers to manage moisture and oxygen when paired with suitable laminates.

Sustainability, Aesthetics & User Experience

Sustainability is central to our development roadmap. CloudFilm supports mono-material designs that simplify downstream recycling and help brands progress toward circularity goals.

We also provide matte, glossy, and peelable finishes to balance aesthetics, machinability, and opening experience without compromising line efficiency.

Service, Quality Assurance & Typical Specifications

Every order is backed by application engineering and rigorous quality control—from material selection and trial sampling to scale-up. Typical specifications (width, gauge, optics, COF, sealing temperature, and treatment level) are tailored to your equipment and converting conditions. Food-contact compliant grades are available on request.

Whether you are optimizing a current structure or launching a new format, CloudFilm delivers stable quality, responsive service, and data-driven technical support to shorten qualification time and reduce total cost in use.

FAQ

What is cast film and how is it produced?

Cast film is extruded onto a chill roll, creating excellent gauge uniformity and flatness—ideal for printing and lamination.

How does cast film differ from blown film?

Cast film offers superior flatness and clarity; blown film typically provides higher toughness and better MD/TD balance depending on recipe.

Is cast film suitable for food contact and printing?

Yes. Food-contact compliant grades are available on request, and corona/primer options support high-quality printing and strong lamination.
